Send a photo, get a figurine. The difference from a 3D printed model is the surface: clay is shaped, dried and finished by hand, so edges are soft and colour sits in the material instead of on top of it.

Why clay looks different in the hand. Printed surfaces are even. Clay is not. A thumbprint stays near the base, colour sits a little unevenly at the edges, and the light does not bounce off it the same way.
Hold one and you can tell it was made by a person, in a room, over a few days. That is the whole difference.
